A Haitian community organization in Springfield has filed criminal charges against former President Donald Trump and Senator JD Vance of Ohio. The charges stem from false claims the two made regarding Haitian immigrants in Springfield allegedly eating local pets. Guerline Jozef, co-founder and executive director of the Haitian Bridge Alliance, initiated the legal action.

The charges, including disruption of public services, false alarms, and harassment, were filed after Trump and Vance repeatedly promoted these debunked accusations, despite denials from local officials.

The case is yet to proceed as no hearings have been scheduled.
